I went on a beautiful day-trip this saturday. Actually we wanted to visit the Lenbachhaus in Munich, but we came across the beautiful castle of “Schleißheim”.
It’s a baroque building, built during the aera of absolutism and with Neuschwanstein, Herrnchiemsee and Nymphenburg one of Bavarians royal residences. As build to be a pendant to the french castle of Versailles it’s even one of Germany’s most important baroque buildings. And that it is deservedly. Enough history.
Have a look at the picture’s I brought with me for you 🙂
The staircase is absolutely breathtaking.
And look what I found between all the stuck and ornaments…some clothing made by Vivienne Westwood, inspired by baroque design. It fits amazingly in its surrounding.
In case I ever have to host a ball…it will happen right here.
Some more stunning Westwood dresses. I would have loved to put them on just to feel like Marie Antoinette.
Right now there’s an exhibition going on, called “In dialogue with baroque” and just like the Westwood dresses you find artworks spread all over the castle.
I even found an älg;)
After three castles in a row a deserved some rest and the best beer in the whole world! The gardens and all the buildings around the castle are so wide-spread that you can easily spend the day just promenading through the gardens…
Hope you had a great weekend as well!:)
